The Hydraulics Engineer is a professional who specializes in designing, developing, and maintaining hydraulic systems. They work with a variety of components such as pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, and filters to create systems that operate Simmons machinery, and equipment. This role is on-site at our Lebanon, VA facility.Responsibilities:Designing hydraulic systems that meet specific requirementsConducting research to improve existing hydraulic systemsSelecting appropriate components such as pumps, valves, and motorsTesting hydraulic systems to ensure they are safe, efficient, and effectiveTroubleshooting hydraulic system problemsMaintaining and repairing hydraulic systemsCollaborating with other engineers to ensure project successProviding technical support to clients and colleaguesStaying up to date with new hydraulic technology and industry trendsInvestigating the feasibility, efficiency, and safety of using hydraulic power in various applicationsAnalyzing fluid flow, pressure and velocity in hydraulic systems and identifying potential problems and solutionsAny other job assigned by SupervisorRequirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related fieldMaster's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (preferred)Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred)Relevant work experience in hydraulic system design and developmentStrong knowledge of fluid mechanics, physics, and mathematicsAbility to design and develop hydraulic systemsKnowledge of hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, motors, and cylindersProficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) softwareStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentAttention to detailTime management skillsBenefits:Simple IRA with company matchDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePandoLogic.
